Some Irish websites of note

[Editors note: although three of these organisations make no mention of the word 'libertarianism' in their websites, all the sites below are actually indicative of the huge spectrum of views which use the word.]
Feasta aims to identify the characteristics (economic, cultural and environmental) of a truly sustainable society, articulate how the necessary transition can be effected and promote the implementation of the measures required for this purpose.

    Workers Solidarity Movement
    Irish anarchist organisation
    affiliated to International Libertarian Solidarity
We believe that socialism and freedom must go together, that we cannot have one without the other. As Mikhail Bakunin, the Russian anarchist said, "Socialism without freedom is tyranny and brutality".
Anarchism has always stood for individual freedom. But it also stands for democracy. We believe in democratising the workplace and in workers taking control of all industry.
Organise! is a working class organisation. We seek to secure for all workers a full and equal share of the wealth and social benefits created by the combined labour of our class. We aim for the abolition of all hierarchy, and work for the creation of a world-wide classless society: libertarian communism.
    Against Capitalism, Exploitation and Oppression
We are fighting to abolish the state, capitalism and wage slavery and to replace them with workersÕ control of our industries and communities, ensuring production and distribution for need not profit. To achieve our goal we must relinquish power over each other on a personal as well as a political level.
We are opposed to capitalism; a system based on the exploitation of the working class by the ruling class. By working class we mean the vast majority of humanity who are forced to sell their labour or survive on the pittance offered them by the welfare state.
An open economy allows people to buy and sell goods and services as and when they choose, has few regulations that impede free-trade and free movement of people, upholds personal rights and treats everyone as equal before the law.
The Open Republic is the Irish partner and publisher of the Fraser Institute`s Economic Freedom of the World Index which benchmarks our economy against open economy principles.
An open economy cannot exist for long without an open society. An Open society allows freedom of conscience, freedom of expression and is democratic.
Whilst the ORI does not hold or promote corporate views our values are in line with open economy and open society principles.

Founded in 2003, The Freedom Institute is Ireland's Centre for Social, Economic and Political Studies. Our approach is simple - while others argue about causes, we seek solutions from the ideas and principles developed by great thinkers - Edmund Burke, Friedrich Hayek, Milton Friedman and their contemporaries.
The Freedom Institute will never shy away from expressing its view on any issue. Our beliefs are simple - pro-freedom, pro-enterprise, less government and strengthened security.
An Ireland that embraces FI beliefs would be a place where resources are diverted to fighting not just crime, but also the causes of crime. Our view is to increase choice and competition in every sphere - particularly in the economy, healthcare and education. People should have the opportunity to fulfill their potential in this country - not emigrate to pursue their dreams. Government should retreat to its core areas, and not interfere in areas where the private sector is more than capable of providing. Taxes should be reduced, with the burden of tax (as measured as a share of GDP) still unacceptably high, despite the progress made in recent years.
